Stutter in CS2 is usually driver, capture, or thermal— not “one magic cvar.” Start boring before you RMA hardware.

Update GPU drivers cleanly (DDU if you hop vendors). Disable Xbox Game Bar capture and any overlay you do not need—FACEIT client plus Discord plus GeForce overlay is a common triple stack.

Use fullscreen exclusive or the mode that tested best on your panel; borderless adds latency on some laptops. Cap FPS to a stable number if frametime graphs look like a heartbeat monitor.

If a loader refuses to open after a Windows update, re-check HVCI, TPM, and Secure Boot—the product FAQ lists the published requirement line. Support wants your Windows version and order id, not a vague “it lagged.”

    Laptop users: lift the rear, clean vents, and check power plan is high performance on AC. Thermal throttle feels exactly like “game broken after patch.”
